Supporting Youth Cricket

If we are successful in everything else we do, we will have the funds to invest in youth cricket across the county. To make successful investments, we need to know about your project.  Please apply using the form on this page.

Recent projects and investments

  • LATEST MAJOR GRANT – We are going to support any member of David Shepherd Cricket Trust who applies to participate in coach training this coming 2014/15 winter:
    • Level 2 – we will pay £100 of the £305 fee
    • Coach Support Worker – we will pay £25 of the £50 fee
    • But you have to be a member of the Trust to benefit

  • We have recently agreed a funding application from Ipplepen to support coaching for more girls cricket at the club and coaching for children under 7
  • We are supporting Plympton’s colts section.
  • For the Disability Junior Cricket Festival we are paying for medals, certificates and equipment
  • There are 6 young umpires and 1 young scorer being funded to attend DACO education courses with our support – we want to help young people enjoy our great in all respects – any young ground-keepers out there?
  • We have supported the Girls Under 19 Development Tour to Dubai as well at the Under15 Boys Tour to South Africa
  • Once again we are supporting the Skill Acquisition Programme for County teams and this winter we have also supported District teams
  • For a second year we have supported Barton Cricket Club’s Chance to Shine programme
  • We have invested in a coaching programme for the North Devon Youth League
  • We have just invested £2,500 in the Devon Lions programme and £6,000 into County Age Group Cricket
  • And we supported 11 clubs with their winter training programme for their colts in the grand total of £6,600
